Description: 8vo - over 7�" - 9�" tall Signed by Author A lengthy inscription from the author to R. S. Binkerd the front free endpaper. Inscription reads, "To R. S. Binkerd---let me join in thanking you for your glorious tribute to Mayor Mitchel-short stinging and in real English--In this I too have done my little best on pp. 118 seq. - pray accept Genseric as a mark of the high esteem felt for your public activity by Poultney Bigelow, Yale '19." Also, laid in note with Poultney Bigelow, Malden-o-Hudson embossed letterhead. Note reads, "should be most happy to have you run in for a night or so and a chat for I am a hermit---Mrs Binkerd will be equally welcome if you promise to bring no clothes, can live on war food and share the same big bed." Endpaper also has RSB stamp and Jul 18, 1918 date. Author passed some years of his boyhood in Prussia,
